The modern technology allows placing electronic devices into micropacks. A radio can fit into a button, a television into a watch. But the point of minimizing the size of devices is sometimes doubtful. A microscreen of a television is not necessary, if the human eye cannot comfortably watch the image.

The correlation between an object and the human object is one of the most important requirements, I have talked about this thesis in the article about spoons. There is a whole variety of objects where an object becomes a frame logically and legitimately, and the reason that it hasn’t done so earlier is, that there were no such technologies.

Observing this, I began using “framework technologies” in my designs.
The concept of watches became part of the A. Zeldovich “Target” movie props. The watch is a contour, the size is familiar, the form is recognizable, the information is readable, but there is no body, the whole device is hidden inside the contour. Examples of such solutions.

Sputnik – a belt watch.

The same thing is happening in furniture manufacturing industry. While the physical size, that fits the human body, is the same, the construction strives to “emptiness”.

The content of “empty” objects is not always empty or hollow. “Framework technologies” – is only one of the ways of modern design. Skillful handling of the method allows the creation objects from near future.
