"We called the exhibition “Made in Omsk”. Why? Despite the different problems
that must be solved in professional affairs, each one of us works to achieve
his own goals, results, to produce a finished object. “Made” we understand not
only as completion, high quality, certain professional level, maximum
efficiency of creativity and intellectual talent, but also as a great
individual liability for the made.
What is it that unites us, absolutely different
people?
Probably it is theprofessional and creative interests. We are artists,
designers, architects… We belong to the generation that discovered a vast
amount of new opportunities for self-expression and independent practice over
the last few years. For one thing, it’s the schooling, the architects got their
education in Novosibirsk.
However, there is something more to it. We have the same views on the
time that we live in, to the universe that we work with.
We want to speak the modern language, to use modern methods and tools.
Solving the problem of space organization, we aim at obtaining harmony with the
combination of functuality and creativity.
It’s all about reflecting the relationships between people, who gathered to create,
to make things, objects or interiors, items or photos. In spite of life’s
insuperable obstacles and difficulties, people who Need to Do and Discover must
keep doing their thing".
Exhibitants.

In “Mir Zhivopisi”, a gallery on Tarskaya street, from the 17th
of January to the 10th of January, a unique exhibition “Made in
Omsk” was held (at least, unique for our city). Already completed projects of
architects and designers from Omsk
were the theme of the exhibition. They included buildings, interiors and
different objects.
10 recent and old-established Omsk
citizens took part in the exhibition: Alexander BEGUN, Svetlana and Andrej
GEATTE, Olga Kalugina, Vadim KIBARDIN, Damir MURATOV, Mihail PAHOTIN, Larisa
and Andrej SEDACHEVI and Oleg FREJDIN. Many things unite them, but the main
thing is “views on the time that we live in, to the universe that we work
with”.
It would have taken too much time to tell about the exhibition… Even its
opening became a significant event in the cultural life of the city and deserves
a separate story.
